About Me

Hi, I’m Elias Zacarias, a software and game developer from the faraway lands of Chile.

I’ve been coding since I was around 9 years old (a loooooong time ago) so I’ve done a lot of a stuff in different languages (some defunct by now) such as BASIC, QB, VB, C, C++, Java (J2SE, J2ME, J2EE, Android), Perl, JavaScript, Pascal, Scheme, ASM (Microchip PIC, x86, m68k), a bit of Actionscript, Objective-C, C#, VB.NET, and many others. My journey with computers has been mostly driven by a bottom-less curiosity, an insatiable thirst for knowledge and a never-ending desire for making new things.

My current language of choice for doing simple 2D multiplatform games is MonkeyX.

Through the years I’ve been greatly interested in topics like optimization, computer architecture, compilers, artificial intelligence and of course videogames, and I’ve been constantly learning new things. I’m currently developing games in my one-person  gamedev studio; Giant Enemy Labs while I also work in hardware-related projects that involve 8-bit micro-controllers, programming and electronic design.

Besides game development I also enjoy other activities like photography, making music (not very good at that), DIY electronics and robotics, drawing (not particularly good at that either), collecting decks of cards (kinda proud of my collection), watching movies, reading books (on CS/Engineering mainly) and of course playing videogames! (although I dedicate an embarrassingly low amount of time to that!).
